John Rubens - Managing Director, Corporate Analysis

John has an extensive background in corporate analysis, including ESI indexing solutions, forensic analysis and acquisition, and Early Information Assessmentsm methodologies. With over 15 year of experience, John has a diverse background legal, information technology, and corporate risk management experience. At eTERA, John manages both internal operational and field service professionals who provide a flexible range of technical services.
 
Professional Experience

Prior to joining eTERA, John was the Managing Director of The Oliver Group, an international forensic analysis company. He has also served as a Managing Partner at Senjiva, LLC, a consulting company that optimizes organizations by improving core business processes and mission critical technologies. 
 
Electronic Discovery, Compliance and Audit

  • Provided expert guidance working directly on-site with clients for matters requiring specific technical expertise in large scale data acquisition and litigation management efforts.
  • Provided supervision over forensic analysis and discovery engagements.  This group successfully completed hundreds of data acquisition, forensic analysis, and litigation consulting projects around the globe. Matters included patent enforcement, bid rigging, computer fraud, IP theft, embezzlement, counterfeiting, trademark infringement, electronic discovery, child pornography and stock scams.
  • Developed state-of-the-art data acquisition, management and collaboration tools used by corporate insurance clients, intermediaries and insurance/reinsurance carriers.
  • Formulated transitional strategies for traditional firms seeking to deploy Internet/Extranet/Intranet technologies to improve business processes.

Project Management

  • Has the overall responsibility to develop and maintain eTERA processes and protocols for managing on-site professional services engagements.
  • Manages all members of the eTERA corporate analysis team, including setting objectives for billable hours, skill enhancement, certification achievements, business development, and managing the team to defined goals.
  • Managed the integration of two large corporate loss prevention departments during an acquisition.
  • Led the expansion of a forensic company's professional services offerings, including overall responsibility for data acquisition and forensics services, along with supervising the production operations group.
  • Assumed corporate oversight of the loss prevention and risk management function within a large insurance group’s commercial property and casualty lines.
  • Developed and launched a risk management consultation services practice.

Technology

  • Broad technical base, coupled with detailed experience in developing the unique protocols and business processes required for complex litigation matters. Has extensive knowledge of large scale enterprise systems, software development processes and solutions, various operating systems and platforms, data backup and restoration software, and the use of forensic data acquisition and analysis technologies.
  • Held key positions within the safety engineering and loss prevention field from 1986-1997, which included developing comprehensive engineering solutions and programs to protect life safety, property and reduce risk exposure.

Testimony

  • Involved in overseeing the creation of affidavits and support for court appearances, although testimony is usually delivered by the individuals under his supervision who performed the specific work efforts.
